DataByteTM SDLT 600 Single Drive Cartridge Tape Subsystem

SCSI Connectivity to Continuum Systems

  • 300 GB Capacity Non-compressed Data Per Tape

  • 600 GB Capacity Compressed Data Per Tape (typical)

  • Compatible with All VOS Tape Commands

Regular tape backups are a must for protecting your critical data.  DRA’s SDLT 600 Cartridge Tape Subsystem designed for Stratus and compatible computers is ideal for routine data archiving, unattended backup, disaster recovery, and data transfer among unconnected CPUs.

The Super DLT tape drive has a capacity of 600 GB compressed data per tape.

Compared with conventional 4mm tape drives, the DRA DLT Cartridge Tape Subsystem provides greater storage capacity. For instance, a single Super DLT cartridge can store approximately 25 times more data than the DDS3 4mm tape drive.

The DLT tape drive is available as a desktop unit or housed in a rack-mount chassis which resides inside a standard host expansion cabinet. Once connected and configured, the tape subsystem appears to the Stratus computer as a standard 4mm tape device-responding to all VOS tape processing commands.

Subsystem Overview

A diagram of the DRA DataByte DLT Cartridge Tape Subsystem configuration is shown here. The Subsystem connects to Stratus K450/K460, or D700 tape controllers. The unit requires AC power from the Stratus AC Line Controller or a standard outlet.

Product Support

DRA products purchased through Stratus Computer are supported by Stratus' Customer Assistance Center. DRA products purchased directly from DRA are supported through the Co-Active Maintenance Service (CMS). CMS is a total support agreement which is available "around the clock, around the world" to participating DRA customers.

Product maintenance, product updates, documentation, and training are available through CMS support. CMS is provided free of charge for 90 days following product installation and is extended by contract thereafter.
