Reduce your media footprint
The DataByte™
Archival Tape Reader (ATR)
for DLT is an off-board platform that reads standard Stratus legacy VOS tape
formats and transfers them over Ethernet to a V Series VOS host where they can
be readily restored using VOS Restore. The ATR for DLT consists of the DataByte™
Tape Processor and DataByte™ DLT Tape Assembly. The ATR reads
DLT7000, DLT8000, and SuperDLT tapes.
DRA also offers an
ATR for DAT which is sold separately.
This solution allows Stratus
users to move forward with newer technology by eliminating the need for a legacy
Stratus system mainly used to read legacy tapes. It also enables them to reduce
their media footprint by using ATR to facilitate transferring data from
low-capacity legacy tapes to high-capacity SDLT tapes via their Stratus-attached
tape drive or an enterprise backup facility.
ATR Components
The DataByte Tape Processor
facilitates connection of the tape drive to the Stratus host and allows for
retrieval of archived data. The processor comes in a 2U chassis and connects to the Stratus host via
10/100/1000 Ethernet and to the Tape Assembly via SCSI.
The DLT Tape
Assembly comes in a 2U chassis and houses the DLT tape drive. The drive reads
DLT7000, DLT8000, and SuperDLT tapes. The
Assembly attaches to the DataByte Tape Processor via SCSI connection.
