DataByteTM Archival Tape Reader

DAT or DLT Model

DRA's DataByte Archival Tape Reader is an off-board platform that reads standard Stratus legacy VOS tape formats and transfers them over Ethernet to a V Series VOS host where they can be readily restored using VOS Restore.

Do you need ongoing access to legacy tape systems?

ATR allows Stratus users to read legacy DAT and DLT tapes off-board, eliminating the need for a legacy Stratus system whose main purpose is to read legacy tapes.

Do you need a means for migrating old tapes to modern media?

Media life of tapes is short.  Renewing old tapes to new media keeps the data content alive and accessible.  You can retrieve content from aging tapes and write to modern media via your Stratus-attached tape drive or enterprise backup facility.

Do you need to reduce the footprint of their media library?

Legacy DAT tapes contain little data by modern standards and thereby consume considerable physical space in tape storage facilities.  ATR supports transfer of data to modern high capacity tape devices and allows users to consolidate up to 25 DDS4 DAT tapes onto a single SuperDLT tape from their VOS system.

If you answered "yes" to one or more of these questions, you need ATR.  Click below to learn more about the ATR for DAT or DLT.
